5 tips on how to get more clicks on Twitter

There is a lot of information on the internet about how to increase your Twitter profile and you could spend days trying to work out what you should do and what you should not do. I think the best thing is to try different types of Tweets and more importantly, go with what you are most comfortable with and don’t try too hard. You can monitor which of your Tweets receive the best response by setting up your Twitter account so that you are notified whenever someone retweets you, favourites a Tweet or replies to a Tweet. You will soon find out what works for your followers.

Here are 5 of my favourite suggestions which are easy to follow and are effective:

  1. Use at least 120 to 130 characters
  2. Include a # or a link and place it a quarter of the way through your tweet
  3. Ask people to RT – they usually do!
  4. Post on a Friday, Saturday & Sunday
  5. Tweet in the afternoon – particularly around 5pm is good
